As in the Royalty Contract.


1. Participant will serve through spring of 2009, or until new court is selected.’ Exceptions will be made at the sole discretion of the association.
2. Participant will attend all Royalty activities (weekend or otherwise) as requested. If exceptions need to be made, it is the responsibility of the Royalty Member to contact the association in a timely manner.
3. Participants will be on time to all events. If an emergency occurs, it is the responsibility of the Royalty Member to contact the parent chaperone.
4. Boyfriends or girlfriends WILL NOT be allowed to accompany or associate with the Royalty Court at any appearance, and will be asked to leave if failure to adhere to this rule occurs. Public displays of affection (PDA’s) will not be tolerated.
5. Participants are to remain with the appointed chaperone at all times.
6. Participants will travel with the chaperone (or appointed transportation) to and from all events. Requests for exceptions will only be considered if one week notice is given; written and signed by the parent/guardian of the royalty member and the other party involved.
7. Participants will maintain the HIGHEST level of integrity and poise, and will avoid even the implication of inappropriate behavior.
8. Participants will follow directions given by the chaperone or Royalty Court Chairperson(s). Any refusal or attempt to overpower will result in dismissal from the court. No exceptions will be made as participants must understand that the role of a Royalty Member does not include those obligations and responsibilities of the Royalty Chairperson(s).
9. If the Queen should resign, the alternate is at the SOLE DISCRETION of the association. Same rule follows if another royalty member should resign.
10. Unless specified, the activities permissible while riding the Forest Festival Royalty Float are limited to smiling and waving. Small, polite conversation is permissible at the discretion of the association and the float chaperones. All activities done on the float will be in good taste. Only chaperones appointed by the association are allowed to accompany the float.
11. As a royalty member, the participant and a parent/guardian are automatically on the float committee, which will include, but not be limited to, helping in the construction of the float, helping (at the chaperone’s discretion) in the assembly and disassembly of the float before and after parades, and other work deemed necessary by the Float Chairpersons or association. Exceptions will be made at the sole discretion of the association.
12. All royalty meetings are mandatory, and failure to appear will result in consequences at the sole discretion of the association. Exceptions will be made if the matter is discussed in a timely manner.
13. Any Royalty Member will be dismissed if any of the following occur:

a. She should become pregnant, or he should impregnate his significant other.
b. S/he should become married or engaged.
c. S/he should leave home for any other than legal guardians.
d. S/he is caught in any vulgar acts.
e. S/he is caught in any illegal activities.
f. S/he is disrespectful to any of the association members, sponsors, or anyone affiliated with Forest Festival in any way.

14. The association holds the sole discretion to terminate a Royalty Member’s reign.
15. The Royalty member is given a chance to speak on his/her own behalf in front of the association if asked to resign.
