Kristmastown Kiwanis Duck Drop

Kristmastown Kiwanis Duck Drop

The Kristmas Town Kiwanis Duck Drop will replace the traditional Wood Duck Race beginning in 2025.  Due to the unpredictability of Goldsborough Creek and safety of the volunteers, Kristmas Ton Kiwanis has changed flight and will be presenting the Duck Drop as part of Forest Festival activities.  The Duck Drop will take place at Loop Field on Saturday, May 31 immediately after the logging show ends.  Kristmas Town Kiwanis volunteers will be offering the opportunity to sponsor a duck for $1.00. Look for us on the parade route, at the logging show or contact Mark Ziegler at 360-490-2969.

How will the Duck Drop work?  Nearly 5,000 numbered ducks will be dropped from the sky over a target onto the grass at Loop Field in front of the grandstands at the logging show.   Volunteers with Kristmas Town Kiwanis will measure the distance from the center of the bullseye to the nearest ducks to determine the winners. A grand prize of $1,000 will be available for the duck that lands closest to the bullseye target on the field. Other prizes for top finishing ducks include cash prizes of $250 and $100, $250 Cabela’s gift card, chainsaw, firewood, chicken and jos, manilla clams and more.

Proceeds from the race support college scholarships and community programs sponsored by Kristmas Town Kiwanis.
